Clovers has a long history, it opened in 1965 as Columbia Specialty Foods by previous owner Richard Catlett.  Richard was ahead of his time, back then, and even before he opened the store, he was interested in medicinal herbs, growing food organically and sustainable living.  In the 1960s, environmentalal awareness became a movement, and a lot of natural foods stores sprang up all across the country.  It wasn't just a store, it was something they believed in, and they gained a loyal following.  You can find lots of these old stores still thriving.  Today Clovers is owned by Patty Clover and Scott Nirmaier who worked several years at the original store.  Moving from the original store on Business Loop 70 to Eastgate Plaza and Chapel Plaza Court was a big move for Clovers; there just was not enough room at the original location.  The expansion has allowed Clovers to offer more products to their customers; there is a produce section, and expanded coffee selection, and a reference section.  The reference section makes Clovers truly unique; it is a place where customers can sit and research food or alternative medicine.  Clovers is in it for the long haul; as a team they want to know their customers as well as help them.
